Moving our bodies in a way that supports our internal world is extremely important for our mental and physical health. As a society, we are conditioned to think that pushing harder is better and will achieve the results we are striving for but ultimately, the results start showing up when we really start to tune in.
By moving your body in a mindful, considerate way, we signal to our nervous systems that we are safe and listening. This approach has a wonderful calming effect which allows the muscles tissues and tendons to move congruently with our joints.
Pilates will strengthen and tone the entire body and challenge you in ways you might not expect but it’s more than that, it’s a clever movement system that works towards balancing the body to create harmony within.
Just as a garden needs water, fertiliser, good soil, patience and love to flourish, so too do we. In order to thrive we must start learning to tune in and listen to our body’s needs so we can move out of survive mode (fight or flight) to thrive mode.
When we move more mindfully in class and through life, we unravel the tension and patterns holding us back. We set the wheels in motion for a life of less suffering and more joy.
Pilates will improve your mood, awareness, focus and concentration and mobilise and strengthen your entire body leaving you feeling strong and centred.
