Mindfulness At Work

Offering a mindfulness session to your employees is not just an investment in their personal development; it’s a strategic move towards fostering a healthier, more productive workplace environment. By introducing your team to the concept and practice of mindfulness, you’re providing them with tools to better manage stress, enhance their well-being, and sharpen their focus and productivity. This comprehensive package is designed to cater to both beginners and those with an existing mindfulness practice, ensuring everyone walks away with valuable insights and techniques.

The session kicks off with a clear, engaging explanation of what it means to be mindful. This foundational knowledge helps dispel common myths, such as the fear that slowing down to practice mindfulness could somehow lead to a drop in productivity. Instead, participants will learn how integrating mindfulness into their daily routine can significantly improve their well-being and enhance their work performance through better focus and concentration. Whether through formal practices, like meditation, or informal ones, like mindful walking, attendees will discover the practicality and flexibility of mindfulness in everyday life.

Diving deeper, the program explores the physiology of stress, offering insights into how mindfulness practices can physically alter brain patterns to foster a more serene and focused mind. Participants will be introduced to techniques such as Box Breathing and Body Scan Meditation, proven strategies for activating the body’s relaxation responses. The practical components of the session aim to equip employees with immediate, effective tools to manage stress, recognize its early signs, and choose responses that mitigate rather than exacerbate stressful situations.

This package is thoughtfully designed to ensure lasting impact, including a 60-minute interactive session, a comprehensive workbook, and access to pre-recorded meditations for ongoing practice. With recommendations for apps and books, the journey towards mindfulness doesn’t end with the session but is just beginning. Whether on or offsite, this mindfulness training session promises to be a transformative experience for your employees, setting the stage for a more mindful, productive, and resilient workplace.

Mel is a gifted Pilates instructor and all-round life coach! Mel opens each session by appraising your body and demeanour and asking how she can best work with you that day. She’ll adapt her session on the spot and suggest exercises to try at home, books to read and people to speak to! She is a total well-being guru. Mel is always calm, professional and reassuring, with excellent knowledge of the human body, strength and fitness, and what makes people tick.

Beth Cox – Head of legal at Hire Up

These sessions were wonderful for understanding the focus and benefits of mindfulness. It was perfect timing as we had an unforeseen event at the service and I was able to use what I have learnt in the session to help guide me through the afternoon. I am looking forward to more sessions in the future.

Samantha Atkinson – OSHC Coordinator

In a busy day and so many things going through your mind, this enabled me to disconnect and reflect internally on myself ( things we forget to do ). Melissa’s workshops gave me a different outlook and opened me up to new techniques.

Tony Zafirovski – NAB Business Development Manager, Broker Distribution

Firstly I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this mindfulness webinar series. I feel like they are going to be very helpful for me, especially in my work environment. My plan is to listen to them again and then feedback to my colleagues in hope that they will use some of these strategies too.

Lisa

Melissa Wright took us through what regular mindfulness practice will offer on an individual and collegial level and how it will set a positive example for the students. There was a lot of pair and group work/discussion which kept us all highly engaged and interested. We learnt meditation techniques that can be utilised at one’s desk, we even practised walking meditation, the art of listening and learnt about mindful eating. I found the day highly beneficial even though I’m not a leader and I plan to set up a daily practice at work and home.

Lynn

This week has been massive for me… a massive realisation and energy shift! It’s time to let go of the things holding me back. I don’t think this would have happened without our sessions. I can’t thank you enough!

Wendy Mc Clean – Naturopath, senior researcher at Vital.ly

The meditation and mindfulness were a wonderful addition to our training day. Many useful tools for my staff and myself!

Kathy Peric

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. I have already spoken to my team about putting mindfulness rituals in place to improve not just my own but the staff’s well-being.

Julie Georgiou

A fabulous day with practical tools and different techniques that I had not considered before!

The essence of Buddhism is - no self no problem. N The essence of Buddhism is - no self no problem. No centralised entity that life is happening to.This is a difficult concept to grasp when we live in a fast-paced society where more is more and everything that happens is happening to us.Sometimes that is the case, shit happens to us, but it’s the story we replay over and over again that makes us exhausted and trapped in the prison of our minds. The left hemisphere of the brain is constantly creating narratives to interpret reality which leads us to become identified with the stories of the mind. This is part of building our identity and the mask the world sees. Life unfolds with its passing experiences which causes us to grasp onto whatever may make us feel better in the moment. But, what happens when we remove the mask and take a step back to become the observer of our minds? The curious bystander that’s one step removed from the anxiety loop. This practice allows us to create space between ourselves and the emotions that arise, turning the intensity of those experiences into something more manageable, even humorous at times. This shift in perspective is at the heart of mindfulness practice, where the focus is on witnessing rather than identifying with our thoughts and feelings.I have recently been through something pretty shit that made me feel like I would never get out of the deep spiral of anxiety and depression I was in. Still, here I am with another door open and some fresh perspective due to actually making myself sit down and practice mindfulness. It wasn’t easy and it was very messy.I recently let my mindfulness practice slide when I felt like everything was going well—I even referred to my life as "ideal" a couple of months ago. The important lesson I learned is that, even when life seems stable, you never know when the rug will be pulled out from underneath you. When that happens, it’s crucial to be prepared. For me, that means maintaining my mindfulness practice, regardless of whether life is good, bad or messy.Rest in the comments...#mindfulness #mindfulnessinmotion #mindful #thepilatesescape #pilatesprettybeach
