Hakuba Green Season Retreats

Hakuba Green-Season Retreats

Pilates • Mindfulness • Yin • Mountains

A boutique wellness retreat in the Japanese Alps, designed for people who want to slow down, move well, and reset in nature.

A New Season in Hakuba

Known for its world-class skiing, Hakuba reveals a quieter beauty in the green season.
Misty mornings, clear mountain views, and crisp alpine air make it the perfect setting for movement, reflection, and recovery.

You’ll stay at The Phoenix Chalets, contemporary mountain lodges with panoramic outlooks to the Alps and easy access to Hakuba’s dining and onsen culture.

Retreat Overview

Each retreat combines Pilates, Yin yoga, mindfulness, curated dining, and structured rest to help you feel clear, strong, and restored,  without needing to travel far from Tokyo.

What’s included

  • Daily Pilates, yin yoga and mindful-movement sessions

  • Guided walks and free time to explore Hakuba village

  • Curated food experiences highlighting local chefs and seasonal Japanese ingredients

  • Access to nearby onsens for recovery and relaxation

  • Balanced, unhurried time to unwind

Small-group format (6 guests per class) ensures individual attention and a calm, spacious environment.

Who It’s For

The essence of Buddhism is - no self no problem. N The essence of Buddhism is - no self no problem. No centralised entity that life is happening to.This is a difficult concept to grasp when we live in a fast-paced society where more is more and everything that happens is happening to us.Sometimes that is the case, shit happens to us, but it’s the story we replay over and over again that makes us exhausted and trapped in the prison of our minds. The left hemisphere of the brain is constantly creating narratives to interpret reality which leads us to become identified with the stories of the mind. This is part of building our identity and the mask the world sees. Life unfolds with its passing experiences which causes us to grasp onto whatever may make us feel better in the moment. But, what happens when we remove the mask and take a step back to become the observer of our minds? The curious bystander that’s one step removed from the anxiety loop. This practice allows us to create space between ourselves and the emotions that arise, turning the intensity of those experiences into something more manageable, even humorous at times. This shift in perspective is at the heart of mindfulness practice, where the focus is on witnessing rather than identifying with our thoughts and feelings.I have recently been through something pretty shit that made me feel like I would never get out of the deep spiral of anxiety and depression I was in. Still, here I am with another door open and some fresh perspective due to actually making myself sit down and practice mindfulness. It wasn’t easy and it was very messy.I recently let my mindfulness practice slide when I felt like everything was going well—I even referred to my life as "ideal" a couple of months ago. The important lesson I learned is that, even when life seems stable, you never know when the rug will be pulled out from underneath you. When that happens, it’s crucial to be prepared. For me, that means maintaining my mindfulness practice, regardless of whether life is good, bad or messy.Rest in the comments...#mindfulness #mindfulnessinmotion #mindful #thepilatesescape #pilatesprettybeach
