Like finding Nemo, tricky, but not impossible.
What if you stopped looking for balance and started looking at balancing?
When we are in pain or discomfort its usually because we are out of balance. This means that the joints do not have equal opposing forces. Something is tight, another area is weak.
For example, your hips are tight and your glutes are weak. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your pec’s (chest muscles or breast area) are tight and your upper back muscles are weak
The site of the pain or discomfort is usually not the problem. Something else is out of balance causing your body to lock up in other places. Make sense?
People are often surprised when I go their upper back (thoracic spine) when they tell me their neck is tight. Or when they finish their session and feel better even though I didn’t just give them exercises addressing the site of the problem. Its because Pilates works on balancing the entire body. It’s brilliant really. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A Pilates class that covers all areas of the body that includes mobilising and strengthening will create balance and therefore harmony within the body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now throw in some mindfulness meditation and you have yourself the perfect balancing act!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
